Specify colour, wash and application.

Hot or cold washed.

Washing removes labels, glue, caps and residues. The two methods differ in temperature, chemistry and the contamination level they reach.

Hot-washed

Washed in a heated caustic solution. Specify hot-washed flake when the process needs the lowest residual glue and label content.

Cold-washed

Washed at ambient temperature with mechanical friction. Suitable for fibre, strapping and other applications with wider contamination limits.
